First Trip on an Ascensor

This particular Ascensor, (Artilleria) was built in 1893. The construction, is almost entirely of wood! This makes for an interesting (and very creaky ... some might say scary!) ride to the top!

Here, we are leaving the safety of the station and heading for the top! The length of the 'track' is 175 metres, and the height at the top is 80 metres above the ground.
